The band Brian, Ralph and Monkey is a new concept in music. It uses the idea of the Three Mind Model, which was developed by The Monkey with no name as a way of describing how the human mind works. Biologically speaking the human brain is made up of three brains. The left and right lobes plus a central cortex or nervous system. In the three mind model there are three minds which work independently but as a team. In much the same way the computers on the space shuttle work, although the space shuttle now has five independent computer systems.
Brian is the mind which is responsible for the whole, a social spiritual character. Ralph is the animal mind and is a very self opinionated character. While Monkey is a normal human character. Each of these characters are discrete and are capable of working independently of the other two. If you have ever watched Tom and Jerry, then Brian and Ralph can be equated to the angel and demon that appear from time to time. Monkey experienced a form of schizophrenia called Delusional Self Reference. This is the same form of schizophrenia experienced by David Icke. The symptoms can best be described as thinking everyone is talking to you, personally. You therefore not only understand other peoples points of view, you actually share their point of view. Which can be quite confusing unless you are able to disassociate yourself from those emotions. This is where the idea of Vulcan Mind comes from, as in order to cope with these emotions they need to be rationalised. If you are suffering from DSR you will suffer from a torrent of emotions. When Monkey was ill he was able to listen to music and feel as if the musicians were playing for him, personally. The negative symptoms of DSR are paranoia, sleeplessness and depression.
The band was created as a platform for promoting World Peace using a new form of music called PULP FUSION. Which uses the models created by a schizophrenic mind to describe the real world from its perspective. This is not only refreshing but also a real eye opener. Since the preconceived notions of right and wrong are invalid to a schizophrenic. All they see are the cold facts. This makes PULP FUSION very emotive. Add in the concept of Brian Brane the infinite being that is our own Universe and you have a very creative mix of characters. The story line for the characters is that Brian has decided to show himself to Monkey so that he may act as an interpreter for the rest of mankind, a sort of Babble fish (re:HHG2TG). Ralph is used as the medium in which Brian communicates with Monkey, but Ralph also has his own opinions. Monkey had to infect Ralph with a peace virus to stop him from trying to take over the World. Brian originally tried to communicate with Monkey twenty one years ago but Monkey was not interested. The three character crew are now on a mission to avert the extinction of mankind and possibly the destruction of the whole Universe.
